Aromatherapy is an holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being.
Aromatherapy uses aromatic essential oils to improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit. It enhances both physical and emotional health.
Aromatherapy is thought of as both an art and a science.
Recently, aromatherapy has gained more recognition in the fields of science and medicine.
Plants and their Essential oils have been used since medieval times and show up in most of the ancient cultures around the world.
In the 19th and 20th Centuries, Essential Oils have been “put under the microscope”. They have been thoroughly investigated, and analysed right down to their molecular components. They were the pre-curser to much of the modern synthetic medicines of today. And unlike many of those medicines – rarely have an adverse side effect.
Aromatherapy is normally used as an inhalation or as a topical application.
An Aromatherapy Massage is pure bliss !
There are a myriad of professional books on the benefits of Aromatherapy, some of which are listed in my Acknowledgements and References Section, as well as a deep well of anecdotal evidence.
Having said that, there are times when you need Pharmaceuticals, Doctors, Surgeons, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, and other Medical Professionals and one should use them accordingly.
But for many day-to-day issues – physical, mental and emotional, the Essential Oils in a Professionally blended Aromatherapy product, by a qualified Clinical Aromatherapist, can be a great help.
There are rarely any side effects with Aromatherapy, unless you are allergic to a particular oil. Most people know their allergies and scents they have issues with. eg some people cannot cope with Lavender, others with TeaTree, etc.
Any allergic response is most likely to occur within 12 to 48 hours.
If in any doubt talk to the Aromatherapist.
Normally, properly diluted Essential Oil blends should be safe to use.
I can amend the blend to omit an oil that is not suitable for you, or change the proportions to suit you better and still achieve the desired result.
Most blends average a 3% potency with some requiring up to a maximum 5% for a better result.
Aromatherapy Advantage products are unlike “off the shelf” retail products which cannot be individually tweaked by their manufacturer to suit the individual customer, as the process does not allow for this.
Aromatherapy Advantage products are natural and so unlike the synthetic chemical compounds made in a laboratory for human use, where the list of side effects can be frightening.
